Parent Education

Welcome to Bright Beginnings Preschool and GymKids Programs.

Bright Beginnings is a parent participation preschool and parent education program.

Child's Program:  A developmental approach to learning is emphasized and a variety of age appropriate activities are presented for exploration and observation. This approach allows for development of the whole child: emotional, physical, intellectual, and social. Children learn at their own pace and through their own learning style in an enriched environment. Classes are organized by age and are structured to facilitate learning.

Parent's Program:  Parents interact with and observe children in the preschool setting. They function as helpers in the classroom and on the playground. They assist the teacher and supervise for safety. Parents learn through observing children in the classroom setting and by participating in the daily discussion. Adult students meet with their teacher to learn developmentally appropriate practices and discuss different aspects of raising a young child including: cognitive development, social development, speech and language development, discipline techniques, and available community resources.  Weekly parent participation is required for all Bright Beginnings classes.

Bright Beginnings Preschool: Bright Beginnings offers a 32-Week preschool program for Toddlers to Kindergarten.
Registration for this program requires special paperwork listed in Required Forms.
Curriculum information for Preschool Level 6 - 10 is available under Helpful Handouts.

GymKids Classes:  GymKids is an 8-week motor development gym program for preschoolers.  It is held in our Preschool Gym room.  Classes are 1 hour long.

Specialty Classes: Bright Beginnings offers a variety of 8-week specialty classes in a variety of areas.  Music, science, math, STEAM and Multi-Age preschool classes are just some of the classes offered.  Specialty classes are often multi-age so that parents can enroll two children and a discount is offered for the second child.  A parent wishing to register two children should enroll their first child using the online registration and call the office, 408-522-2707, to enroll the second child and receive the discount.

Family Activities are offered throughout the year and are open to the community.
