Certified Nursing Assistant & Home Health Aide

CNA 2014?

 

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certificate course is a training program designed to prepare students for the state certification with the Department of Public Health. Certification is given upon passing a written and skills test administered by the Red Cross. This certificate program will help students develop and highlight personal qualities that are sought by employers in the medical field: honesty, integrity, pride in personal appearance, and the ability to work as a team player.

Course includes: 180 Hours of Instruction - 77 Hours Theory/103 Hours Clinical
Classroom Days : 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Clinical Days : 6:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and/or 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Students will complete clinical training in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

 

Entrance into the CNA Program requires completion of application, immunizations, fingerprinting, and other required paperwork.

  • Social Security card and valid California state ID or Driver's license.  
  • Physical. 
  • PPD (two skin TB tests within a two-week period OR x-ray OR Quantiferon blood test).  
  • Immunizations (Proof for all immunizations OR evidence of immunity is required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella).
    • Varicella (Chicken Pox).
    • Hepatitis B.
    • Diptheria/Tetanus. 
  • Live Scan (fingerprints). 
  • ESL students must have completed Advanced High class.
  • Registration fees $550

The Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) program is designed to prepare Certified Nurse
Assistants for certification as Home Health Aide by the state of California. The curriculum
consists of 20 theory hours and 20 clinical hours. Students receive 20 Continuing Education
Units (CU) toward CNA certification renewal.

Class dates are April 29, 30, May 2, 7, 9, 10, 2019, 9:00am-4:30pm

 

Admission Requirements:

  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • CNA Certification and CPR must be current.
  • Health screening and TB test must be current (less than 6 months).
  • There is no on-line registration available for this program. Registration fees $235.
